About the author 
Judy Engell is a loyal, hometown girl. She has lived in the same California town since she was three, married her high school sweetheart, has four sons who attended the same schools as she, and now teaches second grade at a local elementary school.
Judy grew up in a family of readers. Her father taught high school English and believed that reading was more important than watching television. The T.V. was almost always broken, so Judy and her 5 siblings and parents spent much of their free time reading from the enormous family library. This appreciation of books, and the desire to help children learn to read, gave Judy the motivation to write. As Judy’s four sons grew up and no longer needed so much of her time, the family acquired two delightful new Chihuahuas who were the inspiration for the Gus and Izzy series.
In addition to writing and teaching, Judy enjoys spending time with her husband, children, family and friends; playing with her two dogs, camping, crocheting, taking pictures, traveling, reading, napping and eating ice cream! ------------------------------------------- I would love to hear from you!!!
